Griffin Fence installs fencing for tennis courts, baseball and softball fields, batting cages, school athletic complexes, and multi-sport parks across the Houston metro. Built to the specs each sport demands — properly tensioned, correctly sized, and installed to last. Serving Houston since 1979.
Sports fencing is not standard commercial chain link. Tennis courts need properly tensioned 10-foot enclosures. Baseball backstops need overhead wing extensions and padded rail caps at youth fields. Batting cages need the right mesh for ball speed. Griffin Fence has been installing athletic fencing in Houston for 47 years — we know the specs each application requires and build to them.
From private residential tennis courts to school athletic complexes and multi-sport municipal parks, Griffin Fence serves every project scale. We work with school athletic departments to meet UIL specifications and with municipal parks departments to meet public-facility standards.
Tennis court enclosures, outfield fencing, backstops, batting cages, windscreen, and multi-sport park fencing — all built to sport-specific specifications.
Standard 10-foot height, 12-foot at ends, properly tensioned chain link fabric. Complete enclosures with access gates, windscreen fabric, and bracing — for private, HOA, and public courts.
Outfield perimeter fencing from 4 to 8 feet, with padded top rail at youth facilities. Chain link or vinyl-coated chain link. Dugout fencing, safety netting, and backstops included in scope.
Baseball and softball backstops with overhead wing extensions — typically 20 feet high with 6-foot overhanging wings. Welded pipe frame with chain link fabric. Anchored for Houston wind loads.
Outdoor permanent batting cage enclosures with 2-inch mesh chain link walls and netting for ceiling and back stop. Standard dimensions 12x14x55 ft; commercial cages built wider and longer.
80% or 90% shade knit windscreen installed on tennis courts and athletic facility fences. Reduces wind interference, adds privacy, and accepts team branding. Replaceable without fence replacement.
Fencing for multi-sport parks with tennis, basketball, pickleball, soccer, and baseball areas — designed for court separation, safety, and efficient access for maintenance crews.
We walk the athletic complex with your facility manager or athletic director, take measurements, review sport-specific requirements, and provide a written quote.
Finalize fence height, gate placement, backstop configuration, windscreen, and padding. UIL or municipal specs reviewed and incorporated into the design.
Crew installs posts in concrete, frames field enclosures, fits backstops, and attaches windscreen or padding — working around your athletic schedule where possible.
Final field walk with your athletic director or facility manager. All specifications verified. 1-year workmanship warranty on every installation.
Tennis Courts — Standard perimeter height is 10 feet, with 12-foot fence on the ends. Fabric must be properly tensioned — loose chain link rattles in the wind and detracts from play. Windscreen fabric attached to the top section is standard for competitive and club courts. Access gates are typically 4 feet wide, centered on each end.
Baseball and Softball — Outfield fence height ranges from 4 feet for youth leagues to 8 feet for high school and adult facilities. Padded top rail is required for youth fields and recommended for all. Backstops are 20 feet high with overhead wing extensions and are engineered to anchor into concrete footings that resist Houston storm loads.
School Athletic Complexes — UIL specifications call for specific dimensions and safety features. Griffin Fence works directly with athletic directors and facility managers to design and install fencing that meets UIL requirements and passes inspection before the first game.
Batting Cages: Griffin Fence builds outdoor permanent batting cages with 2-inch mesh chain link walls and netting top. Standard residential cages are 12x14x55 ft — commercial and school cages are built to your team's specifications.
UIL specifications for Texas high school athletic facilities are available at the University Interscholastic League (UIL). Houston parks and recreation facility standards are administered by Houston Parks and Recreation. For permit requirements on athletic fencing projects, visit the Houston Permitting Center.
